Hybrids are good for some and not good for others. There are times when hybrids are the right choice and then other times maybe not. Reilly Brennan of autos.aol.com gave 5 reasons when a hybrid makes sense, so here they are.
1. When gas is expensive - that’s not rocket science. Hybrids are great financially, so when the gas is high as it was last summer, hybrids were the best option for sure.
2. If you drive a gas guzzler - a hybrid definitely makes sense for someone who owns a truck or SUV. You may be able to double your gas mileage if you get rid of it and buy a hybrid.
3. If you are a city driver, you benefit alot more with a hybrid. Hybrids get excellent gas milage for in town drivers.
4. If you are environmentally active, then you really don’t care as much about the fuel economy and just that a hybrid is good for the environment, so a hybrid is always a good idea for you.
5. There are tax credits out there if you buy a new hybrid, so that could help make your decision if a hybrid is right for you as well.

Watch how a Dodge Challenger is made
http://www.redletterdodge.com/2010/01/14/watch-how-a-dodge-challenger-is-made/
Think of it as the ultimate field trip for grown ups: Peter Carey and a video crew visited Chrysler’s Brampton Assembly Plant in Ontario to get a true behind-the-scenes look at the assembly process for the Dodge Challenger. In this video, he learns that it takes about 24 hours to take a Challenger from framing to the end of the line, with more than 2,400 workers building Chrysler 300s, Dodge Chargers, and Challengers at the plant. Something is going on pretty much everywhere you look at Brampton — even above your head.

What's Changed in the 2010 Nissan Altima's?
The 2010 Nissan Altima is on sale now and features minor styling upgrades as well as new features and increased gas mileage.
Up front, you may notice the new grille, hood and front bumper. The styling hasn’t been drastically changed but does feature more defined lines.
Elsewhere, you’ll find a larger screen for the optional navigation system and a newly available hard drive for storing music. A missing feature for 2010 on the sedan is a manual transmission. The coupe still offers a manual in both four-and six-cylinder engines.
Both engines get a modest bump in gas mileage when teamed with the automatic transmission. The four-cylinder is now 23/32 mpg city/highway — up one mpg in city ratings — and the six-cylinder is 20/27 mpg — up one mpg in city and highway ratings.
The 2010 Altima starts at $19,900, which is unchanged from 2009. There are marginal increases in other models. Stop in today to check out the 2010 Altima's....we have plenty in stock!!

Detroit auto show: Nissan expands crossover lineup with the Juke
Nissan will grow its crossover lineup this September with the addition of the Juke, officials said on Monday. It is one of eight product launches the Japanese automaker has planned for the United States in the next 12 months.
The Juke will be smaller than the Rogue, currently Nissan's smallest crossover. The Juke will ride on Nissan's small-car platform, used for the Versa. The styling will closely resemble the Qazana concept shown at the Geneva motor show in March 2009. Nissan plans to release more details on the Juke in February.
"We are doing so well with the Rogue that there is no reason to think we won't do better with the additional of a smaller crossover," said Carlos Tavares, chairman of Nissan Americas, during a meeting with journalists on Monday at the Detroit auto show.
Tavares said it is important to show that Nissan has continued to spend on new products even though the economic downturn has caused a large drop in auto sales.
The other vehicles in Nissan's 2010 launch plans are:
-- The redesigned Infiniti M sedan, launching in the spring.
-- A 40th-anniversary edition of the Nissan Z car.
-- The Nissan NV2500 light commercial vehicle, launching in November.
-- The Nissan Leaf electric car, launching in December.
-- A redesigned Infiniti QX56 SUV, based on the redesigned Nissan Patrol SUV, launching in the summer.
-- A derivative of an Infiniti product, with a new powertrain, in the fall.
-- The redesigned Nissan Quest minivan, which goes on sale in January 2011.

Detroit 2010: Dodge Viper ACR 1:33 Edition a fitting end note
We heard about it in Los Angeles, and now we see it here in the D. Meet the 1:33 Edition of Dodge's most potent ever Viper. Why the name? We're glad you asked. Back in November, hot-shoe Dodge Chris Winkler managed to hammer the track-focused Viper ACR around Laguna Seca in 1:33.944, faster than any other production car has ever gone (Note: the spoiler says 1:33.915). Impressive, no? Only 33 of these special Vipers are being built. Here's what makes 'em so grand: Thanks to new, more bonkers gearing, the 600-horsepower monster does everything quicker. Try this statistic on for size: 0 to 202 miles-per-hour happens 14 seconds quicker with this 2010 Viper ACR than the 2009 model. Can we get a wolf whistle? The 1:33 Edition also gets a unique two-tone Black Clear Coat/Red Clear Coat exterior color, the inverse of the original ACR, as well as modified end caps on its massive carbon-fiber wing, too.

Jeep Wrangler Most Significant 4X4 of the Decade!
1. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (2007-present)
The Jeep Wrangler JK is the hottest thing to hit wheeling since, well, the Jeep Wrangler TJ. While enthusiasts initially questioned Jeep’s sanity in their decision to produce a 4-door Wrangler, it will probably go down in history as one of the smartest product moves any automotive company has ever made. In fact, the Wrangler JK, and the Unlimited (4-door) in particular, may have single handedly saved Jeep during Chrysler’s bankruptcy by being one of the very, very few bright spots in the portfolio. Through the economic downturn and high fuel prices, the Wrangler has continued to be a success, not just for Jeep, but for the entire automotive aftermarket. From a Jeep customer perspective, the 4-door was pure genius, opening up the sport of Jeeping to families. No longer would you have to choose your kids or your gear. It also made the Jeep brand accessible to people who have always loved the idea of a Wrangler, but never thought the vehicles were large enough or functional enough to fit their lifestyle and/or needs.
Just imagine someone telling you today that they needed you to build a 4-door convertible vehicle. It needed to have removable doors and a fold-down windshield. It had to four wheel drive, with solid axles, a flexible suspension, and BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires. Make sure you equip it with a 4:1 transfer case, 4.10:1 gears, lockers at both ends, and an electronically disconnecting front sway bar. And most of all, it had to pass all of today’s stringent safety standards. What would you think? You would probably think it was complete lunacy, but that is exactly what the Wrangler Unlimited is - a unique vehicle amongst machinery designed for the 4x4 enthusiast and a vehicle that will always have a soft spot in the hearts of the Four Wheeler magazine staff.

Important Tire Information
Your tires are one of the most important systems on your vehicle. Tires keep your vehicle on the road and affect everything from the way your vehicle handles to fuel economy. Performing regular tire maintenance on your vehicle can help maximize vehicle and highway safety, promote better fuel economy and create longer tire life so tires need replacing less frequently. Here are some tips to get the most from your tires and to keep your vehicle operating safely.
· Check your tire pressures monthly to improve long wear, safe predictable handling and maximum fuel economy. For the correct tire pressure for your vehicle please refer to the driver’s side doorjamb or owner’s manual, not the pressure printed on the tire sidewall.
· Improper air pressure is the number one cause of premature tire wear. Under-inflation can lead to tire failure. It results in unnecessary tire stress, irregular wear, loss of control and accidents. A healthy tire loses about 1 pound of air per month. A tire can lose up to half of its air pressure and not appear to be flat.
· For every 10 degree change in temperature outside vehicles can lose a pound of tire pressure. This can increase the chance of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (if vehicle is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system) Malfunction light to illuminate. During weather changes please check your tire air pressures routinely.
· Regularly rotate your vehicles tires every 6,000 miles (or as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer) to extend the life of your tires and promote even tire wear. Uneven wearing of tires may affect the ride, handling and fuel economy of your vehicle.
· Advanced and unusual tread wear can reduce the ability of tread to grip the road in adverse conditions. Visually check your tires monthly for uneven wear, looking for high and low areas or unusually smooth areas. Also check for signs of damage for example; missing tread, ripped or frayed tread, cuts in the sidewalls, exposed steel belts, foreign objects lodged in the tire—nails, glass, metal objects etc.
· Have your wheels balance checked periodically. An unbalanced wheel may lead to irregular tire wear.
· Misalignment of the front and rear steering components may cause uneven and rapid tire wear and should be corrected by your dealer. Have your vehicles alignment checked regularly or whenever you have an indication of steering or wheel trouble such as “pulling”, “vibrations” and “pulsations”. Your vehicles alignment can become misaligned during normal daily driving on roadways that have potholes, uneven pavement and other roadway obstructions, which your vehicle travels over.
· Tires must be replaced when the tread depth is worn down to 2/32, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Inspections Law. This requirement to replace worn tires is designed to prevent skidding and hydroplaning of your vehicle that results from tires that do not have enough tread depth to properly grip the roadway or whisk water through the tire treads. This tire depth requirement is to protect you, your family and all other drivers and passengers on Pennsylvania highways and roads. Here is an easy test to measure tire depth: place a penny with Lincoln’s head facing up into a tread grove on the tire. If part of Lincoln’s head is covered by the tread, there is probably enough tread remaining on the tire. If you can see all of Lincoln’s head, have your tires checked immediately as this indicates that tread depth is not sufficient or below legal limits and the tire should be replaced. Make sure you check all tire grooves when performing this test, as if only one tread groove is below legal limits, the tire must be replaced by Pennsylvania Inspection Law.
· When it comes time to replace your vehicles tires, make sure you follow the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines with respect to the recommended tire size, wear rating and brand of tire for your vehicle. Replacing your tires with an inappropriate size, rating or type may cause changes in your vehicles’ handling, safety and fuel economy.
If you think you may have a tire problem or are unsure of the condition of your tires please consult your service advisor for assistance. We carry all major brands of tires!
